Built custom according to the tastes of the new owners, this luxurious tropical home was finished in December 2012, 15 months after start of construction. The owners purchased the lot and used MariSol's award-winning homebuilding program to complete their custom dream home, a Barry Berkus, A.I.A. designed tropical, Balinese-style beach home with Hawaiian and Asian influences. The custom design was inspired by homes and resorts in Bali, a province in the country of Indonesia.
Teak, mahogany and bamboo finishings give the interior a tropical vibe and the great room's bamboo ceiling is pitched to a height of 20ft for volume. The exterior is a Southeast Asian tropical rainforest complete with specimen ferns, date palms and running water falls. Tikki torches dot the property and an infinity-edge pool and jacuzzi leading to a private bluff top beach make the backyard truly unique.
The master suite is directed to the west for spectacular sunset views over the Channel Islands and surfers below. From the master bedroom, whales, surfers and dolphins are visible from the comfort of bed. The master bathroom feature a steam shower and a wrap-around shower.
The theater/card room features a 20ft wide projection screen, extra television, a full-service wet bar and plush seating for the most dedicated sport's enthusiast.
A 3,000 sq.ft. courtyard is where most time is spent in the warm Malibu sun with the pleasant sounds of the breaking waves at County Line Beach below. The courtyard is served from the full-service bar with pocket sliding glass windows for easy service. Outdoor wicker furniture is placed center of the courtyard for comfortable viewing of the ocean, of the outdoor television and infinity edge pool. A courtyard fireplace, bathroom and a BBQ round out the outdoor amenities.
